This program’s rates average 15% lower than the nation’s most popular Medicare supplement program. Founded in 1947, United American began selling Medicare supplement plans when the federal Medicare program was established in 1966. United American is a strong advocate for education, participating in several company initiatives such as annual back-to-school supply drives, elementary and middle-school mentoring programs, paid summer internship programs for college juniors and seniors, $2,500 scholarships for students to attend college, and high school career fairs.
